Farm Camp

Our Farm Camp is ideally located for the complete outdoor camping experience.

Set on 170 acres of farm and bushland and with direct access to the Gippsland Lakes, it is the perfect base for exploring these stunning waterways and national parks.

Farm Camp is an Introductory Level Camp. All activities are run by qualified Coolamatong staff. There are activites for everyone, regardless of age or skill level. Specific activities can also be modified for suitability to individual groups. While not all activities are appropriate for all age groups, experienced Coolamatong staff can suggest challenges, games and activities to engage and motivate your students.

Each camp has a theme. This theme is chosen by the school and is built on throughout the program during the activities and theme sessions.

Coolamatong has a ‘colonial farm’ atmosphere, creating heritage appeal that has been maintained throughout all our renovations. Enjoy the warm homestead feeling with wide verandas and large windows providing extensive views to surrounding farmland and bush. Below is an outline of the accommodation we provide here at Farm Camp.

Farm Camp can sleep up to 130 students plus staff:

  • Five cabins each sleeping 15-17
  • Eight bunkrooms sleeping 6-9
  • Three leader rooms, each sleeping 2-3, with their own en suite.

Each cabin has three bedrooms with a separate shower and toilet. One cabin has full disabled access. Male and female amenities are located at either end of the bunkrooms with separate disabled toilet facilities provided in each. There is also a laundry with sinks, a washing machine and commercial dryer for your convenience.

Our spacious dining hall seats up to 200 and connects via a servery to the commercial kitchen. Its features an open fire and lounge area for those late night hot chocolate or coffee chats and large windows that provide extensive views to the surrounding farm and bushland.

A data projector, PA system, as well as DVD and laptop connections are available for all types of activities ranging from school discos to movie nights.

Our Games Hall is an old shearing shed that can be used for multiple purposes. It includes a table tennis table and pool table that can be used as free time activities.

Our Multipurpose Shed/Hall allows greater flexibility for wet weather and night time activities. This Hall is able to seat over 300 people for gatherings.

We have a great range of outside activities that can be used whilst at our camp:

  • Sports ovals
  • Beach volleyball court
  • Basketball courts
  • Fitness course
  • Unicycles
  • Giant swing
  • Giant chess
  • Large BBQ area with picnic tables
  • Lots of farm animals to visit!

The boat trip was really super fun, it was really cold but I loved playing fox holes and making the sand castles and jumping off that hill of sand... especially on the way back seeing those two dolphins swim by! I got really tired doing all the fun things you set up for us and I loved every day of it! Thanks!
