The initiatives course at Camp Coolamatong consists of 12 stations that can only be completed through good teamwork, leadership, and total group participation. The initiatives course combines a mixture of physical and mental challenges which unite campers as they work together to accomplish the activity. Whether it be swinging across a "lava pit" or climbing through a spiders web, teamwork and FUN is the name of the game.

The initiatives course is undoubtedly a tremendous activity at Camp Coolamatong for building a team atmosphere amongst your group. There is no doubt that group dynamics are put to the test, however under the supervision of a watchful leader, campers quickly move to higher levels of cooperation when they are given opportunity to reflect on their performance and learn from their experience as they move from one task to another.

Normal group numbers for the initiatives course are 10 - 12 per group.
